Molly and Tanner were married this past weekend at Fernwood Cove Camp in Harrison, Maine and held a weekend long gathering of friends and family to celebrate! And oh boy, have we been looking forward to this one!
While Fernwood Cove serves as a girls overnight summer camp during the summer, they have recently started venturing into renting the property out for weddings and other events under the name Island Pond Event Center. And while you may be thinking 'I can't imagine having my wedding guests stay in rustic cabins, shower in bath houses, and eat in a dining hall,' you might be right. But this crowd, well they absolutely lived it up and soaked in every moment!
The celebration kicked off Friday night with a pig roast, with the in-house chef representing Island Pond Events serving up a mouth watering meal, featuring some of the best coleslaw we have personally ever eaten (and that says a lot!). Guest attire was 'goofy,' and boy oh boy did they bring it! The lawn outside the dining hall hosted endless games of cornhole and croquet, and drinks continuously flowed out of countless coolers and kegs.
The following day got started with brunch, which was once again another amazing meal, before an organized kickball game was held on the baseball diamond. Afterwards, many of the guests, and the bride and groom themselves, rinsed off in the pond before getting ready for the ceremony.
Molly and Tanner chose to walk through a set of doors at the end of their ceremony, symbolizing this new chapter in their lives, before lighting two torches together and leading their guests up a hill to begin the evenings festivities.
The outdoor cocktail hour led way to another feast inside of the dining hall, and emotional toasts were given by several friends and family members. Afterwards, the party moved to the nearby dancehall where the couple shared their first dance and the party really got going!
While the celebration inevitably had to come to an end, the guests were treated breakfast once more the following morning. All in all, we were absolutely blown away by what a fun, unique, memorable wedding this was. The idea to host a weekend camp surrounded by those you love is certainly one that should start picking up steam. Sure, it takes the right kind of crowd, but what we witnessed in just a few days is enough memories to fill Molly and Tanner's hearts for a long time to come. And of course we couldn't be more excited to get into this full edit!
