With their wedding at Autumn Lane Estate in Sebago just over a month away, Paul and Will made the trip up from their home in D.C. to get some long overdue engagement photos at a place dear to Will's heart, the Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine.
The couple chose this location for photos not only because it has ALL the Maine vibes to match their wedding, but because it also holds a place in Will's heart. He actually grew up in the neighborhood, and in fact spent some time scooping ice cream at the shop just down the block from the lighthouse. When he told us about that we all had a good laugh at whether or not he ever dreamed he'd be getting his engagement photos taken at this spot!
While it's suuuper hard to tell from these images, Paul and Will had only once before had their pictures taken together professionally. On top of that, it was as a surprise that time right after Paul proposed to Will, so they were both already in a little bit of shock! But these two were complete naturals, making our job super easy. We always love it when we go to set up a couple in a spot and by the time we look up they're already in a perfect pose!
One of the reasons it had gotten so close to their wedding before they used the engagement session credit included in their photo/video package is because these two currently live in Washington D.C., so planning for this coming out of the winter and a very rainy spring was tricky. Luckily, we somehow got one of the most beautiful evenings in quite sometime on this date! The golden hour light was absolutely on point, and the temps were comfy and cool!
Paul and Will also brought along their adorable puppy Maeve for a few shots. They're currently doing their best to train this very good girl to be the ring bearer at the wedding!!
After a quick outfit change and a few more shots around the Nubble Lighthouse area, we were fortunate enough to move on to a real VIP feeling location just down the road at a relative of Will's! Located right on the coast, this backyard was the perfect spot to catch a few more images as the sun sank beneath the rocky shoreline and the couple stared out into the ocean waves. It was an incredible evening and we cannot wait to film their wedding in July!
